About Crescendo's Diploma in Computer Science

This Computer Science diploma programme is designed to lay a strong foundation in computing skills on those wishing to become a Programmer and Software Engineer in the future. Here, you will learn how to use some of the most popular programming languages to write codes for smart watches, robots, mobile app games, websites with e-commerce components, etc.

Fast-track - The programme can be completed in just 2 years and 4 months, enabling you to pursue your degree studies or start a fruitful career in the IT industry sooner than everyone else.

Practical & Skill driven - There are lots of relevant up-to-date, hands-on and practical activities to ensure that students are truly skilled & well-prepared for the industry.

4-month Industrial Training - The Industrial training provides an invaluable experience for students to get acquainted with the workplace environment; thus, exposing them to skills & knowledge required of them. In many instances, the industrial training leads to a permanent job offer.

Taught by Expert Lecturers - Led by the Chief Executive (Prof Dr Ng), one of Southeast Asia's leading experts on Artificial Intelligence (AI) who has taught in public Singapore universities and with the support of a team of expert lecturers in programming, website designs, internet-of-things, etc - students can rest assured that they are getting quality education. 

Prof Dr Ng has also created an AI-driven app to teach Python programming which auto-checks the students’ works and allows students to self-check as many programming codes in the shortest time.

The Head of Programme (Simon) was also an experienced full stack programmer and had led teams of programmers in Malaysia and Indonesia.

Better Employment Opportunities - Graduates of Computer Science in general are in constant demand in today's IT dependent industries, thus receiving better employment offers that comes with an exciting and satisfying career prospect.

Job Placement Scheme - Job placement is a student support service which we provide to our students. We have a panel of IT companies that will notify us when they have job vacancies. To prepare the students for their future career pathways, we also give career counselling and advice.

Multiple Pathways - After getting the diploma, students can choose the following:

  • Continue in the full-time University of London’s BSc (Hons) in Computer Science degree at Crescendo

  • Work while studying University of London’s BSc(Hons) in Computer Science as an online student

  • Transfer to University of Essex’s final year in the UK

  • Transfer into various university degrees in SIngapore, UK, Australia, US, etc via Crescendo’s University Transfer Schemes

i. Acquire knowledge of mathematics and computer science for the solution of complex IT problems.
ii. Describe the systematic approach to problem solving using a range of programming techniques and the common software applications.

iii. Demonstrate skill set in the development, testing and maintenance of software system practically.

v. Communicate effectively in both oral and in written form with colleagues and team members.
